My name is Lee Herring (aka Mr.
Fish). I grew up in Estill Springs,
Tennessee. I attended Estill Springs
Elementary (in the last 6th grade
class to complete a full six years
before it was closed and moved to
Rock Creek). I started band at North
Junior High (now North Middle)
where I began playing trombone
under Mr. Larry Buckley, and then
went on to FCHS where my high
school band director was Mr. Tom
Isbell. Both of my band directors
were instrumental (no pun intended)
in my decision

to become a band director. After high school I attended Austin Peay
State University where I received my Bachelor of Science in Music
Education.
I love what I do for a living and especially enjoy working at North. The
faculty, administration, and staff here are truly in this for the kids and all
strive to see to it that the students get the best education possible.
My wife, Diane, is one of the most loving and compassionate people on the
planet (also very patient being married to a band director). She played
clarinet in band and is a great singer as well. When not involved in band we
like to travel and see new places. I still enjoy playing trombone and have a
jazz trio that plays restaurant and society gigs at least once a month.
If you ever need to reach me e-mail is the best bet. You can also reach me
through the school at (931)967-5323.
